May's stationery obsession...

My name is May and I have an addiction to stationery. There, I've said it and I know I'm not alone.

I love notebooks, because I love making lists. I love calendars and planners and thinking I'm organised. I love having new pens to make work notes look more interesting. I love sending letters and cute cards to friends. I could go on...

Rather than give you a tour of every notebook I have lying around the house, I thought I'd list (see, I cant stop!), my top 5 places to shop for a stationery hit, at any budget.

Liberty - not just a gorgeous department store with beautiful scarves and expensive clothes, Liberty has a great stationery department. They sell cards for every occasion and have a great selection of notebooks, pens, photo albums, writing paper, diaries etc. I love going into the store for a good nose around whenever I'm in London but much of the selection can be bought online too. I have bought some gorgeous Flowers of Liberty print notecards for me and as presents.

Sainsburys - possibly not the most obvious choice for stationery, but I have found some real bargains in my local store.  Even better, if you do grocery shopping online you can add your stationery haul to your basket that way (although there does seem to be more choice in store). They usually have a few designs and sell everything such as notebooks, pens, paperclips and pencil cases in each design. Keep an eye out for the half price sales. I have also found some lovely Emma Bridgewater designs in store.

Caroline Gardner - if you're a fan of cute, ditsy flower and heart prints, this may be the place for you! There are a couple of stores in London but you can also buy online (and at John Lewis). The ranges include all sorts of stationery and also mugs, tea towels, make up bags, candles etc.

Paperchase - I couldn't possibly write about stationery without mentioning Paperchase. Heaven for those that like to spend their time picking out the perfect next notebook, pen set or diary. I have also just bought this budget planner in an attempt to get on top of my finances. Wish me luck!

Veronica Dearly - a new discovery for me. I came across this designer when I bought this Terrific Project year planner from Not On the High Street at the end of last year. I had a look at what else this seller had in stock and fell in love with her brilliant greetings cards. Have a look if you're not familiar with them. Definitely a new favourite for me.

Please do let me know if I haven't mentioned your favourite!
